Award-winning composer Eckart Seeber was born in 1963 in Innsbruck, Austria. He studied at the State Conservatory of Music in Innsbruck, Austria; he received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Simon Fraser University (Burnaby, BC) and a Masters of Music degree from the University of Victoria (Victoria, BC). He studied piano performance with the Hungarian pianist Zsigri, and studied composition and orchestration under renowned composers Rudolph Komorous and Dr. John Celona.

Eckart has composed orchestral as well as MIDI-based scores for many motion picture, documentary, television and multi-media productions. His scores have also been performed in concert and on radio and television by well-known ensembles such as the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, the Victoria Symphony Orchestra, the Windsor Symphony Orchestra, the Czech Philharmonic, the Mexico City Symphony Orchestra, the Ukrainian State Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, the Prague String Quartet, the Purcell String Quartet, the Orford String Quartet and many others.

Seeber's musical style ranges from classical to contemporary. His music is rooted in a European tradition and he is proficient in both traditional scores and contemporary arrangements.

He is the recipient of several music awards, including the Westcoast Composers Award and the New Symphonic Music Award. Eckart is a member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, the American Federation of Musicians, the Society of Composers and Lyricists, the Film Music Network, the Independent Feature Project West (IFP/West), the Exchange, Inc., the Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada (SOCAN), and BMI.

He has toured the US, Canada and Europe as a successful concert pianist for many years. He has also been Artistic Director and orchestral and choral conductor for many large-scale musical productions and international revue touring shows of The Phantom of the Opera, Miss Saigon, Les Miserables, West Side Story, Jesus Christ Superstar, Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat, Godspell, and many others. Before entering the field of film music, Eckart has composed music for many live theater productions. He served for many years running as resident composer and music director for a number of different theater companies.

Besides creating music soundtracks for films and network television programs, Eckart has also produced original music for commercials, corporate, special interest and instructional videos, civic events, live theatrical productions, as well as multi-media and new media productions.
